At the non-profit Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen, you contribute your skills and commitment to help more students meet the eligibility requirements with confidence for the future.

We are now looking for new digital tutors!

We are looking for you who are interested in a paid part-time job and at the same time want to make a concrete social contribution. The position is a part-time employment in the afternoons/evenings and essentially involves being a digital tutor after school hours within the framework of our digital program.

As a digital tutor, you meet students online and support them in their schoolwork using digital tools. You work in a team with other tutors and receive training in, and work based on, our structured approach and method.

A central part of the assignment is relationship building. As a digital tutor, you need to be able to “break through the screen,” create safety, and build trusting relationships with students despite the physical distance. You are present, engaged, and attentive, and understand how important relationships are for students' motivation, study environment, and development.

As a tutor, you can either work as a regular digital tutor or as a substitute. As a regular tutor, you work about 6 hours a week, spread over two scheduled afternoons/evenings (with the possibility of extra shifts). As a substitute, you work as needed when regular tutors are absent. The work is carried out entirely digitally.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a university or college student.
• Has good pedagogical skills and can communicate clearly, engagingly, and relationship-building with children and young people in digital environments.
• Is comfortable leading and participating in digital meetings and has an easy time establishing contact and trust online.
• Is solution-oriented, proactive, and can work based on our structured approach and method.
• Has broad fundamental subject competence and good study techniques.
• Shares Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the conditions to succeed in school and shape their own future.

Since the job involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. A police clearance certificate for the employer is a legal requirement for working with children and youth.

The differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents do increasingly determine how likely you are to succeed in school. Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen is a non-profit foundation that operates where it is needed the most. Tutoring is free for students, and the tutors' salaries are funded through support from the business community and the public sector.

Tutoring is a concrete initiative that addresses one of Sweden's biggest problems today - that more and more young people are not succeeding in school and risk falling outside society. Carefully selected, paid university students help young people with their studies two evenings a week and are also positive role models and mentors. Since our start in 2007, we have developed a structured approach and a clear goal - grades must improve, and students must progress to upper secondary school. We are currently in over 90 schools in Stockholm, Södertälje, Västerås, Norrköping, Gothenburg, Landskrona, Umeå, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Gävle, and Malmö.
